I had the pleasure of facilitating a Generative AI enablement workshop for Pinpoint HRM. The primary objective of the workshop was to identify “golden use cases” where generative AI can significantly transform the business. It also served as an opportunity for their team to get their hands dirty and learn how to work with ChatGPT as a workshop buddy.

Inform

The starting point, like many of our client engagements, was to run an Inform session. The content inspires and provides a broad view of the generative AI landscape (and the content is evolving on an almost weekly basis!). This ensures all workshop delegates are ‘up to speed’ on the what’s what in generative AI.

Location, Location, Location!

If the “Location, Location, Location!” rule applies to workshops too, then Pinpoint know how to do things. The workshop, with 50 of their team, was in the sublime Bangarra Dance Theatre in Walsh Bay. A stunning and a great venue to get the creative juices flowing. We opened up with a fun icebreaker, as any good workshop should do!

Design Led

The interactive hands on workshop involves a range of design led thinking exercises, with plenty of generative AI inspiration material, from live demos to interactive presentations, helping drive the creative thinking.

AI Super Powers

The exercises were infused with hands on ChatGPT usage. We had Simon Hellier a prompting maestro (and also runs courses on generative AI with the University of Sydney) guiding them on creative ways of using ChatGPT for the exercises.

Pitch Time

The pitches, where all the ideas get played back, are definitely a favourite part of the workshop. It’s great and rewarding to see the diversity and passion of the ideas being presented.

In summary

Whilst the day was a lot of fun, it’s only the start of Pinpoint’s journey into the exciting world of Generative AI. The outputs provide give them a solid foundation for their generative AI roadmap. Add to that they’re a super cool team, it made for a great day!
